The Rumpelstiltskin meme is an AI-generated clip of a creepy imp tiptoeing in a hay barn, made to look like an old 1980s fantasy film. It was first posted on Instagram in August 2026 and went viral in late September, set to Riff Raff's 2014 song "Tip Toe Wing In My Jawwdinz". Many viewers thought it came from the real 1987 Rumpelstiltskin movie, but the scene was made with AI. Since then, people have swapped in everyone from Wednesday Addams to Sam and Dean from Supernatural. ## How it works - **Upload one photo** Choose a clear, front-facing photo of yourself, a friend or your pet. One face, good light, no sunglasses. - **Pick your video** Swap the face into the original barn clip, or make a new Rumpelstiltskin dance video. Pay once for that video. - **Download and post** Your MP4 is ready in a few minutes, with the tip toe song already on it. Download it and post. ## Questions and answers ### What is the Rumpelstiltskin meme? It is a short AI video of a creepy little imp tiptoeing and dancing in a hay barn, set to Riff Raff's song "Tip Toe Wing In My Jawwdinz". It went viral on TikTok, X and Instagram Reels in late September and early October 2026. ### Is the Rumpelstiltskin meme AI? Yes. The clip was made with AI and first posted on Instagram on August 27, 2026. Know Your Meme and NBC News both confirm it is AI-generated. ### Is the clip from the 1987 Rumpelstiltskin movie? No. A real 1987 Rumpelstiltskin film exists, starring Billy Barty and Amy Irving, but the tiptoe scene is not in it. The AI clip only copies the look of a 1980s film. ### Who made the original Rumpelstiltskin AI clip? Know Your Meme says it was posted by the Instagram pages Stroinaya, Neuroferma and Anna Glinskaya. NBC News named the creator as Tatyana Tereshchenko, a self-described AI artist and filmmaker. ### What song is in the Rumpelstiltskin video? The song is "Tip Toe Wing In My Jawwdinz" by Riff Raff, from 2014. The hook says "tiptoeing in my Jordans". ### Who plays Rumpelstiltskin in the meme? Nobody. The imp in the viral clip is generated by AI, so there is no actor. In the real 1987 film, Rumpelstiltskin was played by Billy Barty. ### Who is Rumpelstiltskin? Rumpelstiltskin is a small, magical man from a German fairy tale published by the Brothers Grimm in 1812. He spins straw into gold for a miller's daughter in exchange for her firstborn child, and she can only escape the deal by guessing his name. ### Is it spelled Rumpelstiltskin or Rumplestiltskin? The usual spelling is Rumpelstiltskin, with "pel". Rumplestiltskin is a common variant, and it is the spelling used in the TV series Once Upon a Time. ### How do you pronounce Rumpelstiltskin? In English, say it as RUMP-uhl-STILT-skin. The original German name is Rumpelstilzchen. ### What happens at the end of the Rumpelstiltskin story? The queen guesses his name, and he flies into a rage. In the 1812 Grimm version he runs away and never comes back, and in later editions he stamps into the ground and tears himself in two. ### Who played Rumpelstiltskin in Once Upon a Time and Shrek? Robert Carlyle played Rumplestiltskin, also called Mr. Gold, in Once Upon a Time. In Shrek Forever After (2010), Rumpelstiltskin is voiced by Walt Dohrn. ### What does this Rumpelstiltskin video maker do? It turns one photo into a Rumpelstiltskin dance video. You can swap a face into the original viral barn clip, or make a new Rumpelstiltskin dance video. ### What is the difference between the two video types? "Swap into the original clip" puts your face into the famous tiptoe scene. "New dance video" creates a fresh Rumpelstiltskin dance starring the person or pet in your photo. ### How much does it cost? You make a one-time payment per video. There is no subscription, and you see the price before you pay. ### Is there a subscription? No. You pay once for each video you make, and nothing renews. ### How long does it take to make a video? A new dance video is usually ready in about 2 to 4 minutes. A swap into the original clip takes about 3 to 5 minutes, because the AI redraws every frame of the real clip. ### What kind of photo works best? Use a sharp, well-lit photo with one face looking at the camera. Avoid sunglasses, hats that hide the face, heavy filters and group photos. ### Can I use a photo of my pet? Yes. Pets work well when the face is clear, in focus and looking toward the camera. ### Can I use a photo of a friend? Yes, if they agree. Only upload photos of people who are happy to be in the video. ### How many photos do I need? Just one. One clear photo is enough for either video type. ### Is my photo private? We use your photo only to make your video, and we do not post your photo or video anywhere. You decide if and where to share the result. ### Does the video include the Riff Raff song? Yes. Your video comes with the meme's tip toe song on it, the "tiptoeing in my Jordans" part. If you would rather add the official sound inside TikTok or Reels, you can also download a version without the song. ### How do I add the tip toe song to my video? On TikTok, upload your video, tap "Add sound" and search "tip toe wing in my jawwdinz" or "tiptoeing in my jordans". On Reels and in CapCut, use the music or audio button and search the same words. ### What format and length is the video? A new dance video is a vertical 9:16 MP4 of about 10 seconds. A swap into the original clip keeps the clip's own wide 16:9 film frame and is about 15 seconds long. Both come with the tip toe song on them, and a version without the song is there too. ### Can I post the video on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts? Yes. The new dance video is vertical 9:16, which fits TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and Snapchat. The original-clip swap is wide 16:9, like the viral clip people already share. Use each app's AI-generated content label where it asks for one. ### What happens if my video fails? If generation fails, we retry it for you. If it still does not work, we refund your payment. ### Can I make more than one video? Yes. Each video is a separate one-time payment, so you can make as many versions as you like. ### Is this site the official Rumpelstiltskin clip or the 1987 film? No. We are an independent AI video maker. We are not linked to the creator of the viral clip, the 1987 film, or Riff Raff. ## Guides - [The Rumpelstiltskin Meme Explained: Origin of the AI Tiptoe Dance](https://rumpelstiltskin.dance/rumpelstiltskin-meme): Where the AI Rumpelstiltskin tiptoe meme came from, how it went viral with Riff Raff's song, the best remixes, and why so many thought it was a 1987 film. - [Is the Rumpelstiltskin 1987 Clip Real or AI?](https://rumpelstiltskin.dance/is-rumpelstiltskin-1987-real): The viral Rumpelstiltskin tiptoe clip is not from the 1987 film.
